March is National Athletic Training Month
March 1st marks the beginning of National Athletic Training Month. #NATM2016 is held every March to increase awareness about all that athletic trainers do. The NATA provides NATM logos, press releases, sample media alerts and PR toolkits. In addition, the NATA sponsors several social media contests. Watch for your chance to participate and win!All athletic trainers and athletic training students are encouraged to advocate for the profession. Our goal is to continue to reach those individuals and organizations that can help make a difference for athletic trainers when it comes to legislation, employment and public health. At this time of heightened media focus on concussion and youth sports safety, this is a good time to remind reporters and others of the breadth and depth of athletic trainer expertise in caring for all kinds of injuries and all kinds of active people. This year’s theme is “A Safer Approach to Work, Life and Sport”Please see the NATA site for additional information and PR toolkits regarding NATM:http://www.nata.org/national-athletic-training-monthIf you have any questions or need additional information, contact MoATA Public Relations Chair Morgan Simpson (MSimps@citizensmemorial.com), MoATA Governmental Affairs Committee Chair Josh Thompson (josh.thompson@westminster-mo.edu) or NATA Public Relations Manager Ellen Satlof (ellen@nata.org).
