Bio:

Carolina Quintana, PhD, ATC (she, her, hers) is currently in her third year as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Athletic Training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and faculty in the Master of Science in Athletic Training. She received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Northern Arizona University, a Master' of Arts in Education from New Mexico State University and a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Kentucky. Clinically she has worked at the division I and junior college levels as well as in professional horse racing working to implement concussion protocols and improve healthcare access to jockeys in the commonwealth of Kentucky. Her research focus began exploring ways to optimize outcomes for individuals diagnosed with sports-related concussion with vestibular consequences and has evolved to exploring accessibility and inclusion in sports medicine spaces. She is also dedicated to enhancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility in athletic training, with a particular focus on ensuring integration of these principles in athletic training education.
